Festivals in Las Vegas

Halloween:
This festival is celebrated on 31st of October and on this occasion, almost all nightclubs and bars in Las Vegas host fancy-dress parties. Many grown-ups dress up in weirdest of costumes, while The Strip overflows with some of the best entertainers.

St. Patrick's Day:
Irish heritage in this city is celebrated on this day which falls on 17th of March. A parade is held in downtown Henderson, while Fremont Street Experience celebrates St. Patrick's Day with 'Irish nachos', music and drinks.

Extreme Thing Festival:
This sporting extravaganza which arrives in late March, witnesses some extreme sports such as wrestling, skateboarding and body modification championships. Teenage aggression is apparent on such occasions and tourists can also expect some extreme doses of music.

Pure Aloha Festival:
This Polynesian art, food, dance and music festival is celebrated in mid-April for two days. Transplanted Hawaiians in Las Vegas contribute immensely towards making this festival truly enjoyable with traditional and modern interpretations of aloha.

CineVegas Film Festival:
Founded by Danny and Robin Greenspun in the year 1990, this film festival is celebrated in mid-June. It features some upcoming movies and also showcases some of the locally-made films.

Las Vegas Harvest Festival:
This festival is a wonderful event for the entire family as it has all-day long entertainment activities. Celebrated in mid-August, it features hundreds of individuals, mainly artisans, who come from different corners of the country to showcase glass and silver jewelry among many other items.

Greek Food Festival:
This festival is celebrated in early September and is a tradition which began 35 years ago. Considered to be a true ethnic festival of this city, it has four days of folk dancing, Souvlaki and Retsina.

Las Vegas BikeFest:
This event which arrives in the city somewhere between late September and early October can be enjoyed even by non-bikers. They can have a memorable experience while enjoying classic motorbikes, demo rides and 'Artistry in Iron' championships.

San Gennaro Feast:
This Italian-American festival, which falls in September, includes carnivals and a traditional procession besides food.

Vegas Valley Book Festival:
Historians, poets and authors have their moments of glory in this three-day event which arrives in early November. Local heroes of literature are in this city on this occasion for readings, panel discussions, debates and signings.

Christmas:
Christmas is celebrated in Las Vegas on 25th of December with millions of lights that illuminate the city. Tourists can enjoy free chocolates at Ethel M Chocolate's factory and songs of carol singers.

New Year's Eve:
On 31st of December, Fremont Street and Las Vegas Boulevard are filled with night parties, display of fireworks and huge crowds.

Chinese New Year Celebration:
Chinese New Year is celebrated in Las Vegas on 25th of February as a pan-Asian festival which features delicious feasts of eastern cuisines. Japanese, Thai and Tahitian culture is also given great importance on this occasion, featuring traditional lion and dragon dances.
