Puerto Rico Museum of Art
Located off route 26 in Santuce this incredible collection of art is the major attraction for the tourists arriving at San Juan in Puerto Rico. Ground floor of the Museum is totally devoted to classical art work. One total wing displays gallery of paintings, wood carvings and religious articles of seventeenth century. Recent works from 1930 – 1960 are displayed separately. There are craft workshops for the children for mastering the ancient arts and pass it on further to the new generation. Near the museum there is a sculpture garden spread on a vast two acre plot of land. The surroundings are beautiful with a pond and tree plantations.

Museo de las Americas
A great collection of artifacts of South, North and Central America are displayed here. They range from carved figureheads from New England, whaling ships to dugout canoes engraved by Caribbean Indians in Dominica. Paintings of renowned artists from the Spanish world are neatly displayed at this museum. These rare masterpieces are the treasures of this Museum. The huge structure of the Museum contains fascinating collection of Latin American folk art accessories like masks, clothing and musical instruments. Altars representing Mexico’s Day of the Dead celebration and collection of vintage Santos, Puerto Rican wood carvings of saints are the main attractions here.

Museo de San Juan
This museum was restored as a cultural center in 1979 which was formerly known as Museo de Arte y Historia de San Juan or Museum of Art and History of San Juan. One wing of the Museum is totally dedicated for showcasing Puerto Rico’s history. The other wing keeps on changing its exhibits. The building is buzzed up with many festivals and concerts arranged in its courtyard throughout the year.
